It’s a new year! 2025.

READING

Ahna has always been inclined to books and reading. She loves being read to and reading herself. So this library membership has been such a blessing because she guzzles books down my book guzzler firstborn. Here are some pictures of some of what we read this month. We enjoyed doing a stitching project (mending all torn soft toys) in connection to one book we read. Some books were also enjoyed in her girl cave on the swing.

As we continued the little house on the prairie series, we read a chapter about butter churning one evening and it was amazingly timed because we had just tried making butter that very morning (and failed). So, we tried again after a few days and were successful the second time around.

We did some other random units like learning about landforms and water bodies, garden learning, writing practice through writing letters to family and posting them and Ahna is learning chess through a book.

This month we also set up our garden for this year. This included starting seedlings, redoing mud, arranging plants according to their sunlight requirements and providing structures for climbers to go on.

Next year, we travel to Gujarat for experiential learning. We have been eager to see lions in the Gir forest! It will be Hopes first time that she will remember.
